Daisy Adventure Day
GS Grade Level: Daisy + Volunteers
Fee: $30/girl, adults free Location: Tongawood Session Length: 1pm-4pm, 3hrs Group Capacity: 50 girls |
It is a fact: hitting the great outdoors is good for girls’ well-being. Our research shows that outdoor exposure increases girls’ challenge-seeking and problem-solving knowledge, drives their leadership development, improves their health overall, and offers them important opportunities to practice cooperation and teamwork and try new things. Come out to Camp Tongawood for a day of adventure; paddle in a canoe, shoot a slingshot, and climb a traverse wall. Let’s get outside!
Registration Requirements: All girls participating in this activity must be registered Girl Scout members. Each girl must attend with a parent or adult chaperone. This event requires a 1 to 1 ratio to participate. Girls will NOT be able to participate if their name does not appear on the roster or if they are not accompanied with their own caregiver or approved and background checked adult. Group Sizes – Attendees will be placed in groups and follow a planned activity schedule for the day. Group sizes for this day are restricted to 12-13 girls and 12-13 adults. If you are coming with a troop and want to be with as many of them as possible, come in early, please check in together so we can keep as many girls together in your troop as possible **Daisies will need to canoe with an approved background checked adult or their own caregiver. ** Badge/Journey Connection: Step 1 of Journey: Between Earth and Sky, Step 2 of Journey: Think Like a Scientist, Steps 1 and 2 of Outdoor Art Maker. Daisy Adventure Day is a wonderful way to practice and complete step 3 of most of the Daisy Petals! |

Brownie Adventure Day

Come out to Camp Tongawood for a day of adventure; archery, fish, and hike with a purpose! This day is all for Brownies too. Girls will experience taking aim at targets, learn the basics of Leave No Trace and spend some time fishing on the pond.
Registration Requirements: Each troop must have enough adults to meet the proper safety ratio and first aid requirement. Individually registered girls need to have a parent or guardian with them through the duration of the session. Adventure staff do not count in safety ratios. Please remember that each activity is for the girls who are registered.

Junior Adventure Day
GS Grade Level: Juniors
Fee: $45/girl Location: Camp Prairie Schooner Session Length: 10am-4pm - 6hrs Group Capacity: 45 girls |
Come out to Camp Prairie Schooner for a day of adventure; have some fun while climbing, taking your aim at archery, and earn your Geocache Badge. While earning the Geocache Badge Girl Scouts will find out how to use a GPS unit, and the difference between latitude and longitude. When you’ve earned this Badge, you will be able to go geocaching on your own or even create your own geocache/course.
Lunch includes hot dog, chips, fruit, dessert, and a drink. Registration Requirements: All girls participating in this activity must be registered Girl Scout members. **This is a DROP OFF event. Adults and troop leaders are not required to stay** Badge/Journey Connection: All participants will earn and receive their Junior Geocache Badge. Some other connections are; Junior Climbing Adventure Badge. |
