property reservation basics:
FOR SERVICE UNITS
Council service units are eligible to make reservations for service unit wide campouts or events at our local camps: Camp Tongawood and Camp Prairie Schooner. These are events that are open to girls throughout the service unit area to attend.
This process is intended for large SU or council wide events/campouts of 75+ girls and not for individual troop events/campouts. For any large event, once confirmed, a meeting with event organizers, council outdoor program team, property manager and service unit support manager will need to be set. This allows for everyone to come together to discuss the event and any needs from the SU and/or council staff to ensure the event is a successful experience for the girls.
SU Camping Guidelines
- If you wish to reserve a commercial kitchen, on-site training and food handler certifications are required.
- Service units can place reservations up to 6 months in advance using the Outdoor Large Camping/Event Property Request Form.
Any requests submitted more than 6 months prior to the requested date will be returned. - Service unit campout events will include council-staff lead adventure activities.
