 CADETTE OUTDOOR JOURNEY - FULL

Date: March 26-28, 2021
Location: Camp Tongawood

GS Grade Level: Cadette
Fee: $60/girl
Group Capacity: 15
You will find that the Cadette Outdoor Journey is rich and robust as it covers a lot of essential outdoor skills. You will enjoy primitive camping in the Outpost Campsite, help clean up and create an outdoor educational trail, cook entire meals right over a campfire, then take part in a Service Project to give back to Camp Tongawood.
 
In this Cadette Outdoor Journey you will earn four badges: Tree, Trailblazing, Archery, and Primitive Camper Badges. Girls must complete a 3.5 hour online prep class as well as attend two virtual meetings.

  • Meeting One – Weekend Menu and Cook Out Assignments - Wednesday March 17th at 6:30pm
  • Meeting Two - Tent Basics, Packing List, and Weekend Schedule Overview - March 24th at 6:30pm

LAKE JACOMO KAYAK EXCURSION

 Location: Lake Jacomo
GS Grade Level: Junior-Ambassador
Fee: $35/girl
Session Length: 2 hours

Join us at Lake Jacomo for a kayaking day excursion led by our trained lifeguards and small craft safety instructors! We'll start with a safety lesson and brief introduction to kayaking before kayaking around the lake! Kayaking experience encouraged but not required.

Badge/Journey Connections: This excursion completes steps 2-5 of the Senior Paddling Badge! Step 1 you can complete on your own or as a troop just by signing up!

 SHAWNEE MISSION PARK LAKE  KAYAK EXCURSION

Location: Shawnee Mission Park Lake
GS Grade Level: Junior-Ambassador
Fee: $35/girl
Session Length: 2 hours
Group Capacity: 15

HORSESHOE CANYON EXCURSION

Dates: March 19-21, 2021
Location: Jasper,  Arkansas
GS Grade Level: Cadette-Ambassador w/Guardian
Fee: $120/person
Group Capacity: 16
Known across the Midwest as the best spot for outdoor rock climbing, this weekend is sure to improve your climbing skills. Saturday will be filled with an expertly guided rock-climbing session and if time allows some light hiking. The group will spend both Friday and Saturday night camping at the private campground with access to modern bathrooms and showers. Previous climbing experience is required. Price includes expert rock-climbing guides on location, rock climbing gear, lodging, and food.

NEW THIS YEAR, this excursion will be open to guardians to participate alongside their Girl Scout in this climbing weekend. Each Girl Scout must have an adult guardian to accompany her on this weekend excursion.
 
Transportation will NOT be provided. We will caravan to Horseshoe Canyon Ranch together.

 Rocky mountain national park - FULL

Date: July 25-31, 2021
Location: Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado

GS Grade Level: Cadette-Ambassador
Fee: $700/girl
Session Length: 7 days, 6 nights
Group Capacity: 16


​$140 deposit due at registration. Balance due by May 31, 2021. ​
Come explore Rocky Mountain National Park with other Girl Scouts in our council! Spend a week in one of the most visited National Parks in the country. Itinerary includes multiple hikes, camping, horseback riding, biking, whitewater rafting and countless nature appreciation moments.

Lodging will include staying at Hamp Hut in Colorado Springs, Twisted Pine Lodge located near Denver and camping at Rocky Mountain National Park. Whether this is your first trip to a National Park or you are a veteran, there will be plenty of experiences that will give you a glimpse of the beauty of Colorado. This will be a trip to remember!
