What are Service Unit Day Camps? 
Camp is an essential element in helping girls become leaders for both younger girls and teens. Day camp plays a unique role in the progression of outdoor Girl Scout programs. For Girl Scouts, camp will …  

• …build a strong sense of self while developing healthy and inclusive relationships 
• …build diverse, real-world skills like cooperation and problem solving 
• …build confidence in learning and practicing progressive outdoor skills 
• … be FUN! 

 
Day camp will allow girls to feel empowered to make a difference in the world, building women of courage, confidence, and character to make the world a better place. 
 
GSKSMO day camps are service unit volunteer-led day camps, supported by the council’s staff and resources. Day camps typically last for 3-5 days with an optional overnight offered (may not be available for all ages). Service unit day camps adhere to all outdoor program standards established by our council. Standards cover areas such as equipment, program, finances, health and safety, and risk management.

To find out if your Girl Scout's service unit is offering a day camp this summer,  please reach out to your troop leader or other service unit volunteer for information.
